DKT International is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 in Washington, USA by Mr. Philip D. Harvey. Since the 1960s, while helping low-income and vulnerable people in northern India, Mr. Harvey or Phil, realized that if people could not control their fertility, their health would suffer. and their family’s lives will decline no matter how much help they receive.

At the end of 2019, in Da Nang City, DKT International in Vietnam and Miss Tran Tieu Vy stirred up the Dance movement! For Kindness with the theme “Kindness with health: Ending gender-based violence – HIV/AIDS prevention – For the benefit of yourself and the community!”. On this occasion, DKT Vietnam distributed more than 10,000 OK condom products and newCHOICE birth control pills for free to youth union members.

In 2023, accompanying the reproductive health communication program for students with the theme “Student Journey – OK”, DKT Vietnam organized many meaningful activities in Quang Binh and Ben Tre. Series of events to raise student awareness of sexual and reproductive health topics, including advice on safe and practical solutions to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases sexual intercourse (STIs).

Most prominently, the program celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of DKT Vietnam with the theme “Empower Vietnam” is an important milestone in the social journey and caring for the community. “The 30th anniversary program of DKT Vietnam has the theme Empower Vietnam. We convey the word “Em” in Empower with many layers of meaning, emphasizing the empowerment of Vietnamese people, especially young people. The word “Em” is also stylized to represent the image of a Vietnamese girl in an ao dai and a conical hat, showing that what we are doing is for all Vietnamese people, promoting women.”
