DKT International, Inc., USA (DKT) is a social marketing organization dedicated to promoting family planning through the distribution of high-quality contraceptive methods such as condoms, oral contraceptives, and intrauterine devices (IUDs). With offices in over 30 countries and sales operations in more than 100, DKT has become the largest provider of contraceptives and family planning services worldwide.
We recognize that poverty and disease often result from uncontrolled population growth due to inadequate family planning. This demographic challenge exacerbates economic, housing, and land use issues while leaving fundamental needs unmet. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for Vietnamese people by offering effective family planning products.
Since 1993, DKT has operated in Vietnam through its representative office, pioneering mass social marketing of contraceptives such as condoms and oral contraceptives. This initiative has brought renewed hope for effective family planning to the Vietnamese population.
In Vietnam, DKT has implemented a range of nationwide programs aimed at promoting sexual and reproductive health (SRH), family planning, and HIV prevention. These initiatives involve partnering with youth organizations and social groups to conduct information, education, and communication (IEC) campaigns targeted at the youth community. Additionally, DKT collaborates with healthcare organizations and major hospitals specializing in obstetrics and gynecology across Vietnam to enhance healthcare providers’ proficiency in contraceptive methods and safe abortion practices through training sessions and specialized conferences. At the same time, DKT is committed to ensuring access to modern, high-quality, safe, and affordable contraceptive products, abortion services, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023, DKT Vietnam has rebranded as DKT MEKONG in 2024, covering Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Together, we are transforming lives and building a healthier future for generations in the Mekong region.
